BlaZinG Ferrariinternship/job searching frenzyIt is the season of holidays. But for MISMers, festivity and celebration seems no more trivial; we all have only one aim and that is to land on a decent job among many interviews we are about to go through in the new semester. So, it is best now that we seek nourishment and strength in the coldest of winter break, in the hope that we all blossom in the coming spring.
Ming has been revising his resume relentlessly, and has never been satified with it. Sishi has been learning database and programming by herself. It won't be easy, considering some of us have learnt it for years. Nonetheless, her tenacity and determination moved me. Jean even went the greatest length to NYC just for an interview before Christmas. And there is also the Shanghai gang, who have already tried numerous interviews in the past semester.
Seeing my friends making their moves, I start to feel agitated and motivated. I took a first ever look at the tartan track for internship openings for the summer. To my surprise, I am so close in missing many resume submission deadlines. Hoosh~ I wonder if there is somebody in MISM who's more blurred than me. These are the interview opportunities on campus I selected, which I think would be some interests to MISMers. Hope my friends have already taken note.

The curtain of 2007 is pulling down, time to say goodbye. The sun of 2008 shall rise tomorrow. Nothing will be different except that some of us may bear new hopes. My dear friends, wish you interviews well done and wonderful jobs clinched in the new year! Happy new year! the turkey dayIt was Thanksgiving yesterday. It is a holiday to give thanks to things one has at the conclusion of the harvest season. Shops close early; few cars are on the road; the American folks go back early to have a reunion dinner with their closest ones at home. It is like our Mid-Autumn day—though the food is different, and so is the meaning for celebration, -- the theme is the same, it is all about family. Being able to sit around one dinning table and chatting away with your loved ones nearby a blazing stove, while the snow flakes dance outside the window, is a beautiful moment in life.
It would have been a quiet and lonely thanksgiving but thanks for Steve’s kind invitation to join him for the celebration. Derek and I reached his house early to help prepare for the dinner. We were responsible for baking the turkey, which is the most important item on a thanksgiving dinner. We bathed the turkey, massaged it with salt and pepper and loaded it with stuffing from the back before putting it into the oven. It all sounds easy but it took us almost eight hours making it.
Later that afternoon, Sishi, Dingpei and Yuhan came to help too. Not long was the table filled up with delicious ingredients for the hotpot, which was our unique addition to the turkey dinner. Guests flew in now and then. Night fell, and we ate, drank (fruit juice), turned red in the face (because it was hot) and played an interesting party game.
After the dinner, a young boy dragged me aside to play chess with him and soon we were joined by a few other people and started playing checkers. Other people were discussing whether they should go to Best Buy for the Black Friday sales, which would open at 5am, but people would start queuing up at 3am. I was amazed by this kind of unique US sales and was pondering if I jumped into such craziness too.
It is only appropriate that I end this journal with my gratitude. To my parents, thanks for giving me life, love and strength; my friends, for your accompany and support while we are studying together in US.

一般说法是,if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
